About the Workshop
This second online workshop in the SustAInability series brings together participants from
environmental sciences, geography and GIS, water and climate-related studies, urban and regional planning,
electrical and computer engineering, and IT/AI. The focus is on concrete applications of artificial intelligence
for environmental monitoring, analysis of climate and land-use data, sensor networks and remote sensing, and
sustainable management of water and other resources in urban and rural systems.
Over two mornings, students, lecturers, and practitioners will share short presentations, case studies, and
demonstrations showing how AI tools can support decision-making in environmental and urban contexts, as well as
in STEM and sustainability education.
- Dates: 27–28 November 2025
- Time: 09:00–12:00 (Germany) / 11:00–14:00 (Turkey) / 13:00–16:00 (Kyrgyzstan) / 14:00–17:00 (Cambodia)
- Format: Online via Microsoft Teams
- Audience: Students and staff from environmental & water engineering, geography & GIS, urban studies & planning, electrical/computer engineering, IT & AI, and related fields

Call for Presentations
Students and early-career researchers are invited to submit short presentations (5–10 minutes) on
applications of AI in environmental, urban, and sustainability contexts. Contributions are welcome from
environmental and water engineering, geography and GIS, urban and regional planning, electrical and computer
engineering, IT and AI, and related fields. We particularly encourage case studies, prototypes, data analyses,
and educational projects that show how AI can support real-world decision-making.
- Topics: AI for environmental monitoring and climate data • GIS and remote sensing with AI • Smart and sustainable cities • Water and resource management • Sensor networks and IoT • Technology-enhanced STEM and sustainability education
- What to submit: presentation title, short abstract (max. 150 words), and institutional affiliation
- Deadline: 20 November 2025
